Matt Horney Owner/Head Brewer a Ecology Beer Creative and StillFire Brew Master Phil Farrell have been judging and brewing beer for many years. When Matt moved to New Orleans from Atlanta, he was accompanied by his little cat Ella. Ella passed in March and would have been 18 this month. As a tribute, it occurred to the duo that the perfect hop to add to a collaboration beer would be a hop from Australia named Ella. Ella takes a crisp, golden, easy to drink Pilsner and adds an extra dimension of floral, tropical, grapefruit and even light spicy aromas and flavors. The flavors are complex and evolve with each sip in a very pleasing manner. As in life, Ella works its magic and transforms a proper Pilsner into the Brightest Light.
