Our Lead Brewer Geoff, (G for his friends), brought in a homebrew recipe he really loved brewing. Phil decided to take the joy out of G’s creation by making him brew it at work. The original used one of our favorite hops, Citra, but it also used a proprietary blend of hops that changed every year. It seemed to be appropriate for us to use our own blend of “C” Hops we call the G Blend. They include Citra, Columbus, Centennial & Cascade with Tomahawk and Zeus mixed to confuse the naming convention. The result is a beautifully golden Double IPA with a fruity nose that leans on tropical character and grapefruit. Surprisingly, there are no heavy resiny pine flavors or cattiness that turn some people off to Pacific NW hops. Very clean and dry in the finish, the hop flavors linger until they dissolve just before you take the next sip. It is Bold yet as balanced as a strong beer can be. We think G-Licious DIPA drinks like a single, is as strong as a double, and it will make you like it triple!
