When we started this journey that has become StillFire Brewing, we were committed to continually creating new beers that we were really excited about. We introduced Glory Haze at the Suwanee Beer Festival in 2019 and it proved to consistently be one of our most popular over our first year. It is impossible to predict favorites yet we agreed with our fans that it was one of our favorite beers also. When we were contemplating a First Anniversary beer, why not a celebrate success and brew a Double version of Glory Haze? Even though Hazy IPAs are a relatively new phenomenon, what we now call Double IPAs got their newest common name from the shorthand for Imperial IPA, abbreviated as IIPA. The word “Imperial” harkens back days of Emperors and Empires, most notably the Romans. We already have a great mascot and even a Mayor of StillFire, so why not add an Emperor over our fledgling “Empire”? The brewers decided this Imperial Glory Haze should be christened Glorius Maximus the First, Emperor of StillFire. Pouring with a deep golden color, Glorius Maximus is unapologetically hazy from wheat, hops, and yeast, with a full, almost creamy mouthfeel that only oats can provide. Just like its’ little cousin G-Haze, G-Max leads with tropical fruit, grapefruit, and literally explodes with secondary waves of guava and orange. Weighing in at an impressive 9.6& ABV, Glorius Maximus is everything you have come to expect in Glory Haze, only more. A Roman tastebud orgy in a glass.
