For thousands of years, Italians enjoyed their fine wine. Emperor Julian in 361 AD was probably close to describing the difference in his time when he declared wine smells like nectar while beer smells like goat. Italian craft brewers had an uphill battle a decade ago convincing their countrymen beer had evolved. Embracing an abundant and popular ingredient, the craft brewers created a grape ale that slowly made believers out of skeptics. Our version is a beer that is very wine-like. We used a white grape blend for the summer that is both fruity and aromatic. Topping it off with Hallertau Blanc hops as well as fermenting it with a special wine yeast and finishing it off with French Oak to complete this tasty creation. A beer even a wine lover will want to Chardon-par-tay with. Emperor Julian died 1600 years too soon to retract his tweet.
