CELEBRATING 4 YEARS OF WORLD-CLASS BEER
A SONIC MASTERPIECE.
What better way to celebrate 4 years of World-Class Beer than to brew a special batch of the Quadrupel, the King of Belgian beers. This dark, strong Belgian Ale originated in monasteries of Trappist Monks who started brewing beer at the fall of the Roman Empire some 1500 or so years ago. As they perfected their craft, each monastery would create specialties that suited the local ingredients and their own traditions. Even though some of the Trappist and Abbey beer styles became stronger and more complex over the centuries, it wasn’t until 1991 that the first beer bearing the name of Quadrupel was brewed for sale. Boasting a rich, perfumy nose from the malts, sugars and yeasts that combine to produce an ale over 10% ABV, a Quadrupel is just getting started. The fermentation process also produces complex dark fruits such as plum, grape, raisin and cherry. To serve as a complementary counterpoint, spicy nuances are created by the Belgian yeast that often evoke pepper, vanilla, and clove. To make sure this fine ale pairs well with food or simply an evening of sipping liquid, the finish is dry, or as the Monks would say, “Highly digestible”. There is a lot going on in a Quad, but just like a symphony orchestra, each note is for effect and creates a sonic masterpiece.
