StillFire Brewing, like all breweries is the fulfillment of lifelong dreams. Suwanee residents Randall and Angela Veugeler’s passion for craft beer and love of their community inspired them to create the Suwanee American Craft Beer Fest in 2011. The festival has since become the largest craft beer fest in Georgia and was named the 2022 Reader’s Choice Best Beer Fest in the United States by USA Today. It was through the festival that the couple met Phil Farrell, a legend in the homebrew community, who over the years had won hundreds of awards for his beers. The couple and Farrell soon discovered that they each had the same long abandoned desire to one day open their own brewery. Sharing their dreams with each other was the spark the group needed to do something, and they set off developing plans. Aaron Bisges, a newly graduated lawyer, was brought on to run operations and the founding team took shape. When thinking about a name, the group kept coming back to the idea that they still had that fire to open a brewery after all those years and the name StillFire was born. The name had a message that resonated with how they envisioned StillFire Brewing. They wanted the taproom to be a place that could spark conversations that could lead others to find that flame burning within themselves, and to find the courage to act on those passions. That spark is symbolized in the company’s logo and tagline: Find Your Fire.
